About Us

 

Confide Counselling Service is a registered charity, and has operated locally for 30 years. The organisation is led by a committee of volunteer trustees who delegate day to day responsibility for managing the organisation to our Chief Executive Janet Radford. Janet is supported by two staff and 10 volunteers. Confide has held Service Accreditation with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) since 2003. The BACP is the largest professional body representing counselling & psychotherapy in the UK. We are the only counselling organisation in Shropshire to have this quality mark which, as well as providing robust evidence of service performance, safety and professionalism, also demonstrates that we are committed to competence and continual improvement.

We routinely collect data to monitor individual clinical outcomes and overall service performance. We have high standards of clinical governance and ensure that all our counsellors receive regular clinical supervision. 

Confide counsellors are professionally supervised and covered by public liability and professional indemnity insurance. All counsellors who volunteer or work for Confide undergo stringent pre-employment assessments to ensure that they meet our standards. We use the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that our staff are suitable for working with vulnerable people. We are committed to quality training and support for counsellors and provide student placements and continuing professional development.

We strive to ensure our services are of high quality, and take all the steps we can to make sure all our clients receive the support they need. We send all our clients a feedback form after counselling has ended which can be returned anonymously if people wish. In the unfortunate event that services fall short of expectations we have a formal complants procedure. The information can be downloaded here.
