Training and Seminars

Confide is committed to ensuring that all of its counsellors keep their skills and knowledge up-to-date through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities. We offer regular in-house training. Our high quality CPD workshops are also open to counsellors, psychotherapists and health professionals from other organisations. We welcome students who find that they can enhance their training through the variety of subjects offered and the insights gained from interacting with experienced practitioners.

We also offer bespoke CPD events for other counselling organisations.

Please get in touch via our Contact Us page if you would like more information, or wish to receive regular updates about CPD workshops at Confide.

Forthcoming Events:

We are planning a second Telephone Counselling Skills Workshop, so please let us know if you would like to attend this training and we will organise a date which is convenient to the majority.
The challenges of time-limited counselling – making good use of the therapeutic relationship Saturday 4th November 2017 at the Uplands, Oxon, Shrewsbury.
Facilitated by Debra Nash MSc Member Institute Group Analysts, UKCP Registered. Debra is an experienced Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Group Analyst. Debra provides clinical supervision for Confide Counselling Services.

The Course:  Clients are presenting with an increasing complexity of needs. This can feel overwhelming for both the counsellor and the client, particularly when working within time constraints: Most typically 6, 8 or 12 weeks for services which are not self-funded. Where do you start?

This workshop will offer a way to think about the problems clients bring and how to work with them within a time frame, with a focus on making the most effective use of the therapeutic relationship.

This workshop will focus on the first two sessions of counselling, drawing on the key concepts of:

-      Attachment

-      Transference

-      Defences

-      Therapeutic Alliance.

This will provide you with a ‘scaffold’ on which to hang your first thoughts, responses & analysis of your client to support you on developing a frame from within which to begin working with your client.
