There are times when feeling stressed, upset or tired can get the better of you. Perhaps you might not have had the best of times lately – problems with your friends, you might not be getting on too well with your family, pressures at school or college, perhaps you don’t have confidence or maybe someone elses behaviour is affecting you in some way? Whatever the problem its worth spending time with someone working out whats going on for you and how you feel about it, your counsellor can help you explore your feelings and help you identify opportunities to make changes for the better.
When you meet or talk to your counsellor for the first time he or she will carry out an assessment. You will both sign a contract that sets out how you will work together. Everything you talk about will be completely confidential, your counsellor won’t tell anyone else about what you have talked about except in very rare cases where there is a possibility that you or someone else might be at risk of serious harm.
You can have your counselling face to face at our premises in Shrewsbury town centre. You can also have counselling over the telephone.
If you would like more information or to make an appointment then please visit the contact us page where you can choose how to get in touch.
Confide provides counselling services. Our organisation is BACP accredited, which means we have undergone a rigorous external evaluation of our services. We have also held a public sector contract for the provision of counselling for children and young people. All of our counsellors are qualified, and those involved in seeing younger clients (11-16) have undertaken modules to specialise in children and young people’s counselling and have direct experience of working with children. We have robust clinical governance procedures in place, with all of our counsellors receiving regular professional supervision, we also have safeguarding policy and procedures. We provide counselling from our premises in Shrewsbury and from a centre in Wellington, we also provide telephone services. We can support young people with any issue that might be causing their mental distress, be it bereavement, bullying, stress at school, family background, relationship problems, low self-esteem, past or current trauma or abuse. We use the CORE system of assessment, this system enables us to track and record the clients progress, it is easy for clients to understand and also provides them with reassurance that they are making progress. We take confidentiality very seriously and will not discuss the therapy except in the rare circumstance that there was a risk of serious harm requiring disclosure.
Unfortunately we are not currrently contracted by the NHS to provide children and young people’s services, so all counselling for children and young people involves the client making a financial contribution. If the person paying is a parent or the young person is funding thier own therapy we operate on the low fee service, the price is dependent on income and circumstances. For public, private or voluntary sector referrals contact us for contract price.
